Welcome to the start of a new challenge! I hope that you were able to find some time to be creative this past week. I find that it’s a great way for me to recharge and relax my brain. With all the responsibilities and tasks I have each day as a mom to four growing kids, I have to remember take care of myself, also. Does crafting recharge you, too?
Last week the challenge was to include some wood veneers on your project. This was Irit’s first time joining in, and she made a beautiful 3D board! Visit her blog to see more photos of her project. I love this wood veneer heart she used!
Thanks for participating, Irit! I love the puzzle piece heart and the pearl flourish!
This week’s challenge is to use DIMENSIONAL ADHESIVE (aka: pop dots) on your project. This can be a layout, card, mixed media, or any such project.
If you are just dipping your toes into adding dimension to your pages, then adding some dimensional adhesive is a great way to start! It’s a great way to get a bit of depth of dimension without it being too bulky or overwhelming. It’s also a great way to add some dimension to greeting cards without bulky add ons that may increase the postage needed to mail it. Here’s a card I made using pop dots.
This card uses a new stamp and die set from Heidi Swapp. I pulled some monochromatic patterned papers from my scrap bin, and stamped the striped arrow on multiple papers. Then I used a brighter ink to stamp the smile sentiment. I outlined my mat with navy pen and I added some silver cord for a little shine. Let’s look at the dimension now.
I added pop dots under the sentiment arrow to bring added attention to it. I also put the main mat on pop dots. It’s a simple application that gives a great visual impact and yet is still subtle.
See how Sam made an elegant wedding card using pop dots. I really love this card!
