I love crafting. That’s no secret. I also love learning new things! I have seen tons of videos and cards with beautifully colored in stamped images. I love the look and want to learn how to do it. Usually the images are colored in using Copic markers. It’s an alcohol based ink marker. I recently stumbled upon someone selling their collection of Spectrum Noir markers – another brand of alcohol markers. It was a fantastic savings to purchase them used. I jumped on it! I’ve played a bit, and still have TONS to learn. I may still want to invest in Copics one day, since they seem to be the cream It of the crop, but for now, I can learn and play with the ones I have. Here’s a card I made with them and some of my new Unity Stamp Company stamps.
It was pretty easy to color this image and get some nice blending in the yellow flowers and the green leaves. I don’t feel like you can see much shadowing in the red flowers and the purple flowers. It’s a learning process! I’m pretty pleased overall with the result!
I also used my Wink of Stella marker to add some clear sparkle and shine to the floral cluster. I can totally see what all the fuss is about!! It’s awesomely sparkly, and so easy to use. I can see myself reaching for this over and over!
Don’t forget to join in our weekly Make Something Monday Challenge. This week we have a stamp set from Unity Stamp Company that will go to one lucky crafter!
Check out Sam’s Blog to see what she’s made this week and come back here Friday for another post! See you then!
